Malaysia’s New National Passport

On November 15, 2017, Malaysia introduced a revamped national passport design. A notable change from the previous edition is the relocation of the RFID chip to the datapage. This updated version incorporates additional modifications, particularly in the datapage card and interior pages.

The interior pages have transitioned from a reddish to a bluish color scheme, while the polycarbonate datapage now boasts a grey-bluish hue. Page 3 features the logo of the Malaysian Immigration Department as its background, prompting a consideration of the constitutionality of utilising a department logo instead of the Federation’s coat-of-arms.

One discernible alteration is the perceived fragility of the papers. Both the front and back covers exhibit a softer texture, and the interior pages are noticeably thinner. The imprints from immigration endorsement wet-stamping are visible on the reverse side.

Despite these structural changes, the overall design exudes aesthetic appeal, incorporating elements of flora and fauna. I’m inclined to dub it the “Butterfly Design”. For a more in-depth exploration of this passport design, I’ve shared a comprehensive post on PaperToTravel.. Read the full details here:

Hello World!

Welcome to my new blog, after it has been years that I’ve stopped writing, perhaps because it was easier to share my thought on Facebook or other quick and easy to interact social medias; I am back to write and post on a blog again.

Perhaps this time, it is going to be different as new posts are going to be something that happening or on-going topics with the ability to re-visit, edit and add new stuff as more information is available.

This will be no way a technical review but based more on actual usability and real-world use.
